Looking out onto one of the most beautiful lagoons of Mauritius, guests of Veranda Palmar Beach can enjoy a massage by an experienced Seven Colours practitioner. Three cycling champions at Veranda Grand Baie
As part of the 28th edition of the Tour of Mauritius 2009, Veranda Grand Baie was pleased to welcome a delegation of prominent athletes including Bernard Thevenet, the twice former champion of the Tour de France, Georges Sylvain, the winner of the Tour de Mauritius 2009 and Andrew McLean, one of the greatest South African cycling champions. The latter were members of the Standard Bank Cycling Team and DSTV team, both winning teams sponsored by Veranda Resorts!

New responsible of the restaurants
Paul & Virginie Hotel & Spa are now under the care of David Picquenot! A native of Brittany, he grew up in Monaco where he gained his spurs in the food business, notably by completing his BTS in ‘Hotel Business and Restaurants’ and working in many famous places including the Monte Carlo Beach Hotel. He also worked in the prestigious ski resort of Gstaad in Switzerland before coming to Mauritius where he was the ‘Restaurant Manager’ at the Château de Bel Ombre and Annabella’s at the Heritage Le Telfair for one year. This year, the group offered him a new challenge at Veranda Paul & Virginie, where he will no doubt use his expertise to breathe new life into the eating experience.

Safeguard the marine habitat.
The installation, at the end of April, of a mooring buoy at ONG Reef Mauritius Conservation, in the Grand-Bay lagoon means that the coral reefs are protected. Boats can tie up to the buoy, so ensuring that they
do not have to drop their anchors and destroy the corals. This initiative, financed by the Veranda Grand Bay Hotel & Spa, is in line with its policy of social responsibility which encompasses an important environmental
aspect, combining protection and education.
